Lower limb fractures

Lower limb fractures are those associated with the hips, legs, ankles and feet. These can be caused by a variety of injuries including motor vehicle accidents, biking injuries, sports and falls in the elderly.

The first image shows a malunited / malrotated distal tibia fracture. Correction of position, refixation with plate and screws and bone grafting was done.

 

Hybrid THR performed for fracture neck of femur. THR is preferred to a hemiarthroplasty in patients who were active and community ambulators at the time of injury.
